Bang Pae Waterfall is certainly not the biggest waterfall, but it is pleasant, as it set in Khao Phra Thaeo National Park, surrounded by trees and small rock pools. The waterfall is normally at it’s most impressive during the rainy season between the months June to November. It is popular with locals who go swimming or have family picnics there. There is a car park and also a small restaurant that serves a selection of Thai food, snacks and drinks. Being part of a National Park, there is a small entrance fee. Close to the car park is the Gibbon Rehabilitation Centre, which is also worth visiting. To get there if driving towards Phuket Airport on the main Airport Road (Thepkasattri Road, highway 402) turn right at the Heroines Monument Traffic Circle, sign posted Ban Pakhlok onto highway 4027 after about 9km you will see a sign for Bang Pae Waterfall and the Gibbon Rehabilitation Centre indicating a left turn, left and after about a 4km drive you will reach the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park entrance.
