The Old Phuket Town Walking Street or locally known as Lard Yai or Talaad Yai which means big market, takes place every Sunday along beautiful historical Thalang road in downtown Phuket. This road is normally closed to traffic every Sunday and turned to a busy walking street starting from 4pm onwards. With the charming Sino-Portuguese buildings along the both sides of the street, this night market gives its visitors an atmosphere dating back to the old era of this town. A number of shops and stalls selling a wide variety of items including souvenirs, clothes, food are available along this short but attractive walking street. Those loving entertainment can enjoy live music and street shows.
