Peranakan Phuket Museum is taking you back to the charm of Phuket several centuries ago. The museum offers a chance to discover and learn about the history of the island through Sino-Portuguese architecture and tin mining carried out by Hokkien Chinese who had an important role in shaping up the town. There are plenty of interesting things to do and see at the museum, including Baba Photo Studio where you can dress up in traditional Baba Nyonya costumes and have your picture taken, Yaya Kitchen offers local dishes such as Moo Hong (Phuket-style braised pork belly), Mee Hun Gaeng Pu (crab curry served with rice vermicelli) and Nam Prik Goong Siab (sun-dried shrimp paste), while a chic cafe Pinana serves homemade bakeries and a wide selection of beverages. It’s located at the Garden Phuket Luxury Mall on Thepkasattri Road opposite Homepro Thalang, roughly 15 kilometers from the real Old Phuket Town.
