Phromthep Cape is the most popular and most visited viewpoint of Phuket. It gets really busy late afternoon as hundreds of tourists and locals arrive, hoping to see and photograph a wonderful sunset. Phromthep Cape also has a white concrete, 49 feet high lighthouse that is also is a museum, that houses old maritime and lighthouse items. It was built to honor the 50th anniversary of the reign of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. For those wanting to dine with a view then they should head for the Thai and Seafood, open air, Phromthep Cape Restaurant. Before leaving take a look around the car park as it has drink, snack and handicraft gift stalls and small shops selling an array of tourist items, set around it's edge. Phromthep Cape is close to and well sign posted from Rawai and Nai Harn Beach areas and has a car park.
