Phuket Bird Park is located on 12 acres of gardens and grounds at the base of a hill. The park has nearly one thousand birds, consisting of about 100 different species from mostly Asia, Africa and South America. As well as having smaller birds such as parrots and magpies they also have larger birds, including ostriches, cranes and colourful feather peacocks. The park is well laid out and being on a hill has a number of slopes and a few steps in places. The Parrot House is worth a visit as the parrots fly around freely and can be fed with fruit and nuts. Most other birds are housed in small to medium sized cages. The highlight, bird show is held near the top of the hill and depending on the weather has show performances at 10. 30am, 1. 30pm and 3. 30pm. The entertaining, visitor interactive shows run for around 30 minutes and feature hornbills, owls, macaws and other types of birds. While walking around the park you will come across food and drinks shops and also the bird related souvenir shop. Phuket Bird Park is located just off Chaofa West Road, highway 4021. If driving away from Phuket Town towards Chalong, follow the signs for Wat Chalong Temple, before you reach Wat Chalong you will see a sign indicating right for Phuket Bird Park. Turn right and you will be at the park.
